remove
projector from ceiling mount
The
fitment of a replacement lamp must always be undertaken
with the projector placed upon a suitable worktop or
desk.
If
the projector is ceiling mounted, you should first access
the projector using steps or a fixed / adjustable height
platform. Always undertake the removal of a projector
with the assistance of a colleague, for help steadying
the steps, the passing of tools and the receipt of the
projector when removed from the ceiling mount.
At
all times put your personal safety and that of your
colleagues above all else.
Before
demounting the projector, create a record (written or
drawn) of all the connections to the projector. When
the projector is returned to the ceiling mount you will
need to remake these connections. If individual cables
have non specific markings, now would be a good time
to label them (computer in, video in, audio in –
left, audio in – right, etc.,). The connection
panel on the projector has legend and colour coding
to help you decide what to name specific cables or connections.
At
this time you can also check for the security of the
installation. If you spot any screws or bolts which
are loose; cables which are frayed, worn, perished,
in need of securing or if the installation as a whole
looks insecure – make a note of your observations
or concerns and report your findings to your health
and safety manager.
